Do you have a Virus?

Did you ever try to remove a virus from your computer? I have. One day my PC started to act strangely. I thought I had malware or spyware, but it turns out it was much simpler than that. My computer would not restore. When I opened any file or page on the computer it would make clicky sounds and open stuff I never clicked with my mouse. If I tried to open up Windows Internet Explorer my computer would open up about ten pages.

I went online and downloaded spyware and malware removal tools and still I was coming up empty handed. Not even Norton or Kaspersky could detect this monster virus. When my pc turned on the screen would blink so much that I could not get to the screen that allows you to boot up in safe mode. I couldn’t use the system recovery feature on Vista either because my system would click me out each time I attempted to use it. Eventually I broke down and ordered restore disks from Microsoft. I paid about 30 bucks for these disks and had them rushed delivered.

When the mailman finally delivered the system restore disks to my home. I rushed to my pc and begin the process of restoring my PC. I lost all of my personal files and pictures. After I finished the restore part of removing a virus I thought I’d be ready to go. I wasn’t. My computer was still acting funny. I was about to purchase another computer thinking mine was done.

I glanced down at my keyboard while I was waiting for my system to load. I saw that on the number keypad of the right of my lower keyboard one of the numbers was stuck. I couldn’t believe it. I wiggled the number key a minute and finally my computer was working as it should have always worked. Gees, right?

Despite that I was a dumbass I decided to put this info out there, just in case there is another dumbass having PC issues. I Googled like a machine typing in my PC malfunctions and couldn’t find anywhere on the net where someone was having the same type issues that I was having. Bottom-line I wasted thirty bucks, but was pleasantly surprised to find that I didn’t have an actual virus.

But just in case you aren’t so lucky you can find free malware removal scans for your PC at Microsoft and Kaspersky.

She's back...

I have ignored this blog for so long. I even started a new blog and it occurred to me that, why should I ignore Unspecified Mass when it has already been up and running for so long, and getting views everyday. I was putting all my focus into http://stopjustbeingandbecome.blogspot.com/ - waiting on the views and followers to plug in. Today I decided to update both blogs on a regular basis. For those of you that have viewed this page you may have noticed that it is just a bunch of random this and that kind of things.

I have mentioned my dog, Lucy the beagle basset hound when we first got her. She is still a great dog, she is passive and mostly just the kind of dog that anyone would love to have around. She’s still as cute as ever.

I have also mentioned my freelance writing adventures. I’m still doing that. Ehow closed down there Writer’s comp section of the site. That basically means that the writers can add no new content, but the old stuff still remains intact. They sent many of the writers to demand studios. I published a few articles there and then decided to focus on fiction writing. I wrote several short stories and started a book. I found myself in the middle of a beastly work of words. The book made it to about 50 thousand words and I decided to take a short break with the fiction and focus on non-fiction.

I also post a lot of news and needless info on the site. You can expect to see more of that. As of now I am going to post on this blog regularly and revisit hopefully tomorrow. So until then….

Seeing your house by satellite online is not exactly new, but it can be interesting and even can be mildly amusing. I most recently was able to see my house by satellite with details, including the color of my home, yard toys and my car sitting in front of my house. I could even tell what time of the year it was due to the lack of foliage on the trees. I tried, but I was unable to see people, no matter if I used my address, a family member’s addresses or a store address. I suspect that they have it set to not be able to see people.

6 Year Old Floats away In Homemade Hot Air Balloon and Goes Missing

What I heard is that a man made a hot air balloon shaped like a UFO. His 6 year old son climbed into the UFO shaped hot air balloon just before it launched. The balloon floated up 80,000 feet and when the hot air balloon came back down the 6 year old boy was no where to be found. I did a Google search and found better info. Yesterday I was reading a friend of mine’s blog bar10dr98 . She talked about mturk. This made me curious so I did a Google search and found https://www.mturk.com/mturk/help?helpPage=overview. I signed up. I have made $5.45 in one day there. The site is a place where you can earn money, buy completing a hit, getting approved and then getting paid.

Each hit is different. Some people would like you to check out their webpage to see if it is working, while others may simply want you to answer a question for a few cents. Each task has different levels of pay ranging from .01 to over $14.00. I only saw two hits that offered over $14.00 dollars, I had to run out and when I was able to log back on the hits were gone. The site is easy enough to use. One of the hits was for a 50 cent pay out, simply by linking to your site. That is what the post below this one is all about. I think that is worth 50 cents.

Beware of hits offering to pay you a few cents to write for them. The reason for the warning is that it is likely that they will sell what you wrote for allot more money. You lose all rights to what you have written.
If you are interested in writing for a site to earn cash I would suggest writing for ehow.com or infobarrel.

Many people have trouble channeling their Google adsense. I have decided to post the gathered information on this action into my blog to help others. I did not figure this out on my own either. Thanks to the help of other online writing friends I have come up with these directions….

To channel…
Go to adsense set up.
On that page right below the tabs is another tab that says channel, click that.
Then click url channels.
Type in each channel - examples: shetoldme.com and inforbarrel.com -
You can break it up into pages if you like.
After u have them all typed in check each one and use drop down tab to click activate.
Then go to reports - advanced reports, and you should be able to create a report and view each one.
It doesn’t show up instantly, it may take a day or two.

Afraid of the Dark

Well I have just found out that my beagle basset hound puppy, Lucy, is afraid of the dark. I took her out to pee. My porch sits up high and there is a big tree towering over that back part of my yard, which casts big scary shadows. My little puppy would not run down to use the potty, unless I walked with her. This makes her more adorable than ever. She was frightened like a small child.

The puppy potty training is getting better, since I have used a baby gate to keep her in the kitchen. She has had one small accident in the past several days. That potty accident occurred because she was very excited to see my mom.

Last night we took Lucy to Petco. It was a fun time. Lucy was on a lease, and they have small children sized carts, that my three year old was able to shop with. My three year old put everything in the store into her tiny cart, as Lucy walked excitedly next to her. Their were several different kinds of puppies and dogs at Petco. Each animal taking the time to say hello to each other and sniff anxiously at one another. They had a pet treat bar, set up like a salad bar. A pound of puppy treats for $3.99. Of course we purchased this for Lucy, and we also got her a new sparkly puppy collar.

I saw in the paper today that Petco is having a Halloween party on October 24th at 2PM. Dress up your pet and come to the costume party. Each pet has a chance to win and you will be able to capture the excitement with a photo. We’ve have already bought Lucy a Halloween jacket to wear trick-or-treating with our children, but now I am thinking we need to make her an awesome costume for the party. I will have to think about it, but I seem to have a vague memory of a popular cartoon puppy that had really big ears….

Cheap Dog Clothing

We wanted to dress our new beagle basset hound puppy,
and soon discovered that puppy/dog clothing is over priced,
considering that puppy‘s play hard and
the dog clothes are not likely to hold up to
the wear and tear of puppy play.

While shopping at Target,
we did not want to pay the
high prices of dog clothing.
I got to thinking, if only my puppy
could wear my children’s hand me down clothing.
This gave me an idea about
out of season clearance baby clothing.
Sure enough I walked over to the children’s
section and headed for the going out of
season clearance rack and found
quite a few great bargains.
I held up a 0-3 little girl outfit
that cost a mere $1.49 and decided
that it would fit Lucy, our puppy, and
if it didn‘t we really could not
go wrong with only paying $1.49
for puppy clothing.

Anyway I wanted to share my tips
on how to remain frugal while still
being able to dress your puppy in
adorable dog clothing.

Lucy - new puppy

I haven’t been on much lately to make a post.
Update:
We did not go to the zoo, instead we got a puppy.
she is 2 months old. She is a Basset Hound Beagle Mix.
A little black puppy with big ears and big feet.
She is great with my small children.
We rescued her from the humane society.
She was dropped off at the humane society on the 4th
we found her on the 5th and brought her home on the 6th.
She is a great puppy.
To get her we had to pay of course, the totally purchase
for our basset hound beagle mix was 167.50.
seems high, right?
Not really - this included the cost of Lucy, de-worming, rabies shot, tags and
to have her fixed when she is of age. It was a pretty good deal.
Right now we are struggling with potty training our puppy.
if only it was as easy as training a toddler to use the potty.
it is not - some days I wish someone would come potty train my puppy
for me.
Some days Lucy only pees in the house once a day. Other days it seems like she anticipates
peeing on my dining room floor. We take her out on a leach and give her treats after she goes outside to do her business. I actually made the decision to put a baby gate up and only allow her to hang out in the kitchen, until she is potty trained--- in hopes that she will long to play in the rest of the house with the family and only pee outside. This seems cruel to block her off from the rest of the house, but I fear she will make the rest of my house smell or simply make a reason for us to have to replace the floors. So the poor puppy only gets to run though the house when I am able to keep a close eye on her. Bless her heart.
On the upside she is best friends with my son. They roll around on the floor and chew on each other’s ears and look for each other when one is out of the other’s site. It’s simply adorable.

The latest news on eHow: They did a sweep. Which simply means they deleted tons of articles. They have done this in the past, but this time they went all out deleting many articles. Sometimes they give you reasons. Some reasoning makes sense, while other reasons make no sense at all.

I started to wonder what I was going to do with my deleted work. eHow allows you to retain all rights to your work. Basically, I was annoyed with the sweeps because I had so many words place together to make sense just sitting on my hard drive doing nothing at all, and they used to make me money. I joined a new site to write on. It is called info barrel. Sign up is free, you need google adsense to get paid, that is also free and you can post your deleted eHow articles on there. Infobarrel pre-approves writing before it is published, which means they will not delete you later. You get to keep 75 percent of your adsense earnings. And the site seems to be more geared towards the value of the writers. Here is the link
